7 Card Stud Poker Hi Lo - To Begin A Game

A game of 7 Card Stud Hi Low can only begin once all players have placed what is called an ante, this is a small amount you need to place into the pot to set the game on its way.

Once this has been done all players will then be given two cards which are face down and one face up.

As with the standard game of Seven Card Stud Poker the player who has the lowest face up card has to place a bring in bet which is either a half a small bet or a full small bet.

The game will then begin in earnest in a clockwise motion and follow the same game play as the standard game of Seven Card Stud Poker.

7 Card Stud Poker Hi Lo - The Winning Hands

At the final stage of the game commonly known as the showdown the player who has the best High hand and also the player who has the best Low hand will share the pot on a 50/50 basis.

Should however no hand qualify for taking the low hand pot element then the high hand player will take the entire pot.
